Pat Setser always loved to draw and paint, to capture the beauty of nature, the “happy” colors  and the warmth of a peaceful setting. A scholarship at age nine to the Art Institute in Ohio exposed her to charcoal, paint and pastels. High school and college furthered her appreciation of many types of art.

She works in all mediums, moving from acrylics to pastels and from colored pencils to water color. Lately Pat has been creating more and more mixed media pieces.

Traveling to Europe exposed her to the works of so many artists and much beauty. Pat fell in love with the old architecture, the amazing craftsmanship, the many museums. Seeing so many art exhibits highly influenced her own creativity and helped develop her own style.  Recently, Pat illustrated several children's books and created book covers as well.  She also does commissioned work.

Patricia (Pat) Setser was born in Dayton, Ohio. She has always loved to create art. As a child, she won a scholarship to the Dayton Art Institute. She graduated with high honors from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.

Pat likes to work with all art materials. She has done commissioned work, wall graphics for preschools, sculpted and has had an illustration used for placemats by OH McDonald’s restaurants. She illustrated the cover of the book, “Killing Earl” and has illustrated the book, “The Yellow Cat.” She had an illustration on the Spring 2011 cover of The Pen Woman magazine, a national magazine of The National League of American Pen Women, Inc.

Currently, she has been exploring mixed media and collage. Recently she has exhibited at Great Hang Ups in Fleming Island, Florida (winning Second Place) and the Butterfield Garage in St. Augustine (winning Honorable Mention).
